188 School Backpacks until Christmas

12 June in Insights by joanna

For some children in the village, receiving a school backpack is the only new thing they have ever had and it makes such a difference to their lives.

You can make a difference in a child’s life by donating a school backpack filled with accessories. Our aim is to collect 188 school backpacks by Christmas. The school we support educates 188 children between the ages of 6 and 12 years old. In June we’ve collected 10 backpacks, in July 13, in August 44! So now only 121 to go! September will be a great month!

You can purchase a backpack and fill it with school items as listed below:

Toothbrush, toothpaste, ruler, eraser, pencil case, lead pencils, highlighter, glue stick, lunch box, water bottle (not a plastic one), notepad and anything else you would like to include that feels appropriate. You can also donate your phone or laptop.

Side note: Please try to avoid purchasing branded school backpacks. We are concerned about thee supply-chain transparency of certain brands. To give you an example, Adidas and Nike were featured in media for
forced labour and child labour….

You can drop off your backpack during your family tour directly to the child at our local school. We only need 188 family tours until Christmas!
